You’re One Decision Away

You Don't Need a New Plan. You Need a Decision.

Have you ever wanted something so badly you think about it constantly and so clearly you could practically see it  — and yet still felt completely stuck on the other side of it?

If that's where you are right now, keep reading.

There's a moment that changes everything. It doesn't always look dramatic. It doesn't always feel big. But it is — because it's the moment when you stop negotiating with yourself and simply decide.

One decision. That's often all that stands between where you are and where you want to be.

The Motivation Myth

Most of us have been taught — implicitly, if not explicitly — that we need to feel ready before we begin. That motivation comes first, and action follows. That you wait until you feel like it, and then you go.

But that's not how it works.

Motivation is inconsistent by nature. It shows up sometimes and disappears other times. And if your progress depends on it, your progress will be just as inconsistent. Because you're putting your growth in the hands of a feeling — and as much as we may hope otherwise, the truth is feelings don't show up on a schedule.

The people who are consistent aren't more motivated than you. They've just made a decision that removes the daily negotiation. The question "do I feel like it today?" is no longer on the table. It was answered once, and that answer is the one they keep.

The 5AM Story

For years, I told myself I wanted to wake up at 5am.

I thought about easing into it — setting my alarm 5 minutes earlier, then 10, building up slowly until it felt natural. But it never happened that way. Because every morning, there was a reason it wasn't the right day yet.

And then one day, I just had things I needed to get done. Real things, with real deadlines. And I made a simple decision: tomorrow, I'm waking up at 5am.

So I did.

And after that day I told my boyfriend — myself — “I'm doing this again”. And I did. And now I do. Not because I built up to it perfectly. Not because I finally felt ready. But because I decided.

No transformation. No perfect conditions. Just a decision — and then the follow-through that came from being decided.

What the Decision Actually Does

When you make a real decision — not a wish, not a hope, but an actual decision — something shifts internally. You stop asking yourself if you're going to do the thing. You already know. The decision has been made.

That clarity is what carries you on the days the feeling isn't there. It's what keeps you consistent not because you're superhuman, but because you've already answered the question. And every day you follow through, you build more evidence that you are someone who keeps their word to themselves — which is exactly what we talked about in episode one.

You don't need a new plan. You don't need better conditions. You don't need to feel ready.

You just need to decide.

A Question to Sit With

What is one thing you've been waiting to feel ready for — and what would change if you simply decided today?
